Brentwood House Extension

Mr Edwards called our office seeking help with a dilemma that many of our clients face – their family had grown and they were worried that they had reached the local Brentwood area price ceiling, limiting the possibility of recouping any investment they made in increasing the size of the home.

We met with Mr Edwards and his wife, discussed their needs and calculated the size requirements for their home and taking into account the cost of moving to a larger property including stamp duty, solicitor fees, estate agent costs and removals we arrived at a realistic figure for the cost of relocation. We then created a proposal for works at the Edwards’ current property that would provide them with the family home that they desired and needed to meet the needs of their growing children.

For comparison we invited local estate agents to visit the property to estimate the value of the house both before and after the potential development – to ensure that the prices provided were accurate our in-house architectural designer created detailed plans and perspective views which were shown to the agents.

We added a huge single storey extension which helped to create an open plan living area and dining room, which could be completely sectioned off by a full width secret sliding pocket door to create two separate living spaces if the Edwards’ daughters needed to have friends round or just some private space.
